1. What is waterproofing ?

Waterproofing is a process to prevent ingression/penetration of water into your house walls, floors and other concrete structures. Waterproofing is an important integral part of the building which keeps the building surface dry proofed for leakages if any. It helps to reduce the humidity in the structure and prevents the damages caused due to water entering in to the concrete structures.

2. Why do you recommend waterproofing?

The primary function of waterproofing is to stop and avoid any leaks from the building units. The leakages can be in the terrace, bathroom, balcony, walls, tanks etc. Water will always find the shortest, easiest and quickest route downwards into the weak points of the units. If a weak point or crack develops in your floor or walls, the water seeps into this weak point and finds it way towards the nearest outlet causing dampness and water logging. So to avoid these issues in the building, waterproofing is highly recommended.

3. How to apply waterproofing?

Application of waterproofing varies with the location and the type of proofing recommended, it depends on the person who is applying it. It is always recommended to choose a skilled waterproofing applicator to do your job and follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer to expect the best outcome of the product.

4. Is there a warranty for Clov’s waterproofing products?

5. Is waterproofing expensive?

It is a general myth that everybody thinks that waterproofing is very expensive. In fact waterproofing is recommended to protect and increase the durability of your structure. When you compare the cost we spend to do the repairs in the bathroom, the waterproofing component is quite inexpensive and it will save you thousands. The average bathroom will cost just under Rs. 3000/-

6. Are your products for new constructions only?

Our products can be used on new constructions as well as existing buildings, they can also be used for restorations, renovations and repairs.

7. Do I need to use anything on top of the waterproofing coating?

For internal wet areas like bathrooms and balconies, floor tile itself will act as a protective layer for the coating.

For external area, it can be protected with screed concrete/sand cement plaster and so on.

8. Why use primer?

Primer have generally two functional parameters, firstly it will help us to stop ingress of moisture from the substrate into the membrane which causes blistering and also reduces surface porosity and pin holing. Secondly, it promotes adhesion between the substrate and the coating which greatly reduces the risk of membrane failure.

9. Should I waterproof my home at the time of construction or resolve the problem post construction?

Waterproof during construction is the best option to execute. The owner of the house shall face any leakage issues and hassles after construction if it is not done in a professional way. It just helps save time & enormous money. Waterproofing works acts as an insurance protection for your valued assets.

10. Which are the critical areas in the building which needs Waterproofing?

Any areas which are exposed to moisture and water for any reason needs perfect waterproofing on its structures. In a house bathroom is largest wet area but it is equally important in sump tanks, external walls, balconies, terraces, swimming pools and other exposed surfaces. 11. What is integral waterproofing compound?

Integral Waterproofing are the compounds to be used with cement mortar/concrete while making the new structure. It makes the plaster or concrete dense. So voids don’t form and capillaries carrying water are broken. This serves as an essential structure waterproofing solution for new home owners.
